Blue screen with "bad-pool-caller" message
Hi, I'm trying to install Windows XP home edition on a brand new hard drive. Once the format has been completed, the installation begins, five minutes into the installation it crashes with a bad pool caller problem. I have no clue what's happening, any answers/suggestions.. Thanks Ravi.

XP install - bad pool caller
The system shipped with Windows 2000 SP1 and I successfully upgraded to SP2, the problem is that when trying to use SP3 or SP4 the system gives a BAD POOL CALLER error message on shutdown. I have tried everything, upgraded to the latest drivers for all hardware and even fully re-installed Windows but with no luck.

Almost everytime I start the PC it almost gets to the logon page and then goes to the fault page associated with "bad pool caller". From here it's a case of rebooting the PC which usually logs in OK on the second attempt. Anybody got any ideas about the bad pool caller?

Whenever I want to do a shutdown I get an immediate "BAD POOL CALLER" blue screen.
